For this El Camino, I installed a Chris Alston's Chassisworks back half, which narrowed the frame rails to 30". In order to take advantage of the space for rear wheels, I sectioned the stock wheel housings inward 5 1/2" on each side, then filled in the space. A new section of floor also needed to be made to go above the new rails and suspension. A removable roll bar and X-brace was made to help keep the car from twisting, as I installed a 632 Aluminum Big Block and TKO T-5 Tranmission. A sci-fi looking transmission crossmemeber was made with exhaust cutouts, and a transmission tunnel was formed to house the new hardware.
